Labor Day Weekend is coming in hot – literally – and of course there will be plenty of grilling happening over the holiday weekend, so we deemed it necessary to share some grill inspo with our friends and fans!
Speaking of the upcoming weekend, don’t miss our Labor Day Case Sale!
It’s no secret that the simple things in life are often some of the most beautiful, and that concept certainly applies to this colorful variety of grilled veggies. They can act as a standalone plant-based meal paired with a grain of your choice such as rice or quinoa, or as an eye-catching and tasty side to your favorite grilled protein. Either way, these 3-ingredient veggies are simple to prepare, versatile, and true artwork on a plate! All veggies are welcome – the more the merrier!!!
Note: These veggies are also delish on a green salad, a panini, or added to a pasta salad the next day. The options are limitless!
INGREDIENTS
Variety of veggies (we recommend: broccoli, mushrooms, onion, zucchini, radish, rainbow carrots, potato, sweet potato, peppers, cabbage etc.)
McCormick® Grill Mates® Montreal Steak Seasoning (or other seasoning of choice)
Extra virgin olive oil
DIRECTIONS
Turn grill on to medium-high heat so it is nice and toasty by the time you are ready to toss those veggies on
Wash, peel (if necessary and cut veggies into roughly large, bite-sized pieces
Drizzle veggies with olive oil and seasoning, then gently toss to coat
Place veggies on grill in order of cooking time (i.e. potatoes would go on first, and mushrooms last)
Rotate/flip the veggies to achieve the proper char – a ‘warming rack’ can be especially useful with this dish as it’s common to be done grilling some veggies before thicker vegetables are cooked through.
Grill until tender and serve with your favorite grain or protein, and of course a generous pour of Gård’s Grenache.
THE WINE
These grilled veggies are wonderful with our Grenache – a lighter-bodied red that is easily adapted to an array of different flavors and textures, including milder dishes, but with enough complexity of flavor and texture to stand up to hearty meals like those including red meat. Whether you decide to serve these veggies alongside meat or seafood, or put them on display as the star of the show, our Grenache is a great choice to sip alongside this rainbow-esque dish.
We hope you enjoy this simple, yet beautiful dish! If you give it a try and would like to share your rendition, or one of your own favorite recipes with us, please reach out to Marketing Manager Jen.
Happy grilling!
